Where the AIA fits
South African exchanger work is dominated by the coal-fired power fleet, synthetic fuels and petrochemicals, refining, chemicals and mining. Drawings often say tube plate. We machine to drawing and ship to Durban or Richards Bay.

South African fabricators and plants can buy machined tube plates (tube sheets) from NPRO India for power, synthetic fuels, refining, chemical and mining service. We machine to drawing, provide material and inspection records your Approved Inspection Authority can use, and ship to Durban or Richards Bay.
The coal-fired power fleet runs large condensers and feedwater heaters, many of them ageing, so replacement tube plates are a steady need. In Mpumalanga and the Free State, synthetic fuels and petrochemical plants add process exchangers in a wide range of grades.
Refineries, chemical plants and mining and minerals processing make up most of the rest, from simple carbon steel coolers to stainless and duplex process units.
Local drawings commonly use the British term tube plate. Either term is fine on an enquiry.

South Africa's Pressure Equipment Regulations, under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, use SANS 347 to categorise equipment and decide what conformity assessment it needs. These belong to the exchanger manufacturer and their Approved Inspection Authority; our part is the tube plate and its records.

South Africa's coal-fired stations include some very large units, many of them decades old. Their condensers and feedwater heaters need replacement tube plates as tubes are replaced and holes open up.
Send the original drawing if you have it. If not, a measured survey of the old plate gives us the hole pattern, grooves and pass partitions.
Condenser tube plates can be large and heavy. Give us the diameter, thickness and grade early; drilling time and shipping method both depend on them.
Where cooling water has corroded the old plate, your engineers may want to consider stainless, duplex or a clad construction. We quote what you specify. See condenser tube sheets.

EN 10204 3.1 material certificates traceable to heat number, a dimensional report and the NDT records specified. Check with your AIA what they need and include it in the enquiry.
Yes, from the drawing or a measured survey of the old plate. Large plates are mainly a drilling-time and shipping question, which we confirm in the quote.
