A cost step between stainless and full nickel alloys

Incoloy is a family of nickel-iron-chromium alloys — higher iron content than Inconel, which lowers cost while still delivering meaningful improvement over stainless steel for high-temperature carburizing environments and moderate sour or acid service. It typically sits as a cost and performance step between duplex/stainless and the full Inconel or Hastelloy families.

Incoloy 800/800H is the common high-temperature grade for carburizing and oxidizing atmospheres; Incoloy 825 is the common corrosion-resistant grade for sour service and moderate acids, often considered alongside Inconel 625 where its lower cost and adequate performance are sufficient.
